The Professor introduced us to a book by the name of James Moffett, active voice. It was very interesting, we read a few paragraph, then we did a lesson on what was read. ( which I will explain in the second paragraph) In school we're always asked to write and essay or critical analysis, the list goes and on and on. We have to revised and correct our paper. I read that our inner speech is what we produce at the moment under the influence of a controlled or random circumstance.
Moffett has come up with the idea of having anyone who know how to write and spell to try a method, but it's a little tricky. You have to writie for 15 or twenty minutes straight without stopping. It's called streamed of consciousness. Your not to put to much thought into it, just pour out what your thinking at that moment and write freely as possible.NO rules, grammar is of no importance nor is structure. It is designed to help students to tap off and verbalize what is happening to them at the moment. in their thoughts and feelings. This is known to be spontaneous.
From my own personal experience, it was great. I enjoy writing, but I never have the time to write without having to revise. Usually it's intense because it's a school assignment and you're being graded on how well you do. I was able to write and not care about anything else. We stop after fifteen minutes was up, we were then asked if we had a difficult time with it, and was the writing base on fantasy, reality present, past and future. Then we were asked to write an argument or a situation that we disagree on. Once fifteen minutes was up we had to write from the other party perspective, the person who we disagree with. What would they say, how would they say it and how they felt. It is a stress reliever for people like myself. I don't really talk to much about my issues to anyone. The purpose of this is to build a method of sustained concentration follwed by composition.
Spontaneous Sensory is another idea he wants people to try, all you have to do is choose a place that you would like to overlook then write about what you hears, see, smell. etc. You write your feeling and thoughts on what you have just observed.

Perl Sondra: Understanding composing
After reading Perl Sondra, understanding composing, I really took a liking to chapter 366 from paragraph 4 through beginning page 5. This paragraph made my thoughts on writing essay a little at ease. Lately I feel like I have writer's block. I'm so focus on getting a good grade, so nothing I write is good enough. It's more stressful knowing that it's my last year and I want to go out with a bang, so now I'm so focus on what I write. I think this page really gave me a good incite on my issue with writing an essay. Sondra focus on this paragraph is about "felt sense" another name for what professional writers call their inner voice or their feeling of inspiration. The basic process begins with paying attention to the topic that is given.
So much comes to play and reading this paragraph really helped me to see that I'm making it harder then it really is. I will definitely study this page.
